आयुर्वेद मतानुसार:-
- वामक औषध (उष्ण, तीक्ष्ण, सूक्ष्म, व्यवायि, विकासी गुण युक्त)
- स्ववीर्य से हृदय में प्रवेश
- धमनियों का अनुसरण
- स्थूल तथा अणु स्रोतों में प्रवेश
- सम्पूर्ण शरीर के दोष समूह पर क्रिया
- अणु प्रवण भाव से औषध का आमाशय में प्रवेश
- अग्नि और वायु की प्रधानता के कारण दोषों की उर्ध्व गति
- उदान वायु से प्रेरित होकर मुख द्वारा वमन होना।
Modern view :-
Vomiting is accompanied by a complex series of moment which are controlled by the vomiting centre present in medulla oblonganta.
A major sensory relay stationed in the afferent pathway is the CTZ( chemoreceptor trigger zone).
Process of vomiting
- Beginning of antiperistalsis from illeum towards the mouth.
- Temporary cessation of breathing
- Closure of glottis
- Elevation of soft palate
- Contraction of diaphragm and abdominal wall
- Increase the intragastric pressure
- Relaxes lower esophageal sphincter and upper esophageal sphincter
- Forcefull expulsion of gastric content from mouth.
Vamana karma corelation with modern point of view :-
- Vaman drug (veerya) taken orally
- Enter into stomach
- Irritates stomach mucosa
- Create inflammation in stomach
- Increase permeability of the cappalaries
- Blood circulation increase
- Vaman dravya circulated all over body
- Breaks the dosha sanghaat at cellular level
- Bring back the toxic substances
- Expelled out from body.
This is sequential most probable mechanism of vamana karma.
