3. Anti-tussive
(a) Opiod = Codeine, Morphine
(b) Non-opiod = Noscapine, Dextromethorphine

4. Anti-Histaminic = Chlorphenaramine, Promethazine

Drug used in Bronchial Asthma

(1) Bronchodilator –
(A) Sympathomimetic = Adrenaline, Ephedrine, Isoprenaline; salbutamol; terbutaline
(B) Methyl xanthines = Theophylline;
(C) Anti cholinergics. Atropine, Ipratropium bromide

(2) Mast cell stabilizers = Sodium chromoglycate, nedocromil, ketotifen

(3) Corticosteroids –
Systemic = Hydrocortisone, Prednisolone,
Inhalation = Beclamethasone, Budesonide, Flunisonide.

Oral Hypoglycaemic drugs –

Sulfonyl-urea group = Tolbutamide, chlorpropamide, Glibenclamide, Glipizide. Biguanide group = Phenphormin, Metphormin
Miscellaneous = Acarbose, guargum

General Anesthetics –

(1) Inhalation –
(a) Gas = N2O
(b) Liquid = Ether, Halothene, Enflurane, Desflurane, Sevoflurane

(2) I.V. –
(a) inducing = Thiopentone sodium, Proposol
(b) Slower Acting =
Benzodiazepine = Diazepalm, Lorazepam, Midazolam
Dissociative = Ketamine
Neuroleptic = Tentanyl + droperidol

Sedative / Hypnotic –

(1) Barbiturates = Phenobarbitone, Mephobarbitone, Thiopentone
(2) Benzodiazepines =

Non-Opiod Analgesics –

Salicylate group = Asprine, Salicylamide
Propionic Acid derivatives = ibuprofen, Naproxen
Anthranilic Acid derivative = Mephenamic Acid Ary
Acetic Acid derivatives = Diclofenac
Oxicam Acetic Acid = Piroxicam, Meloxicam
Sulfonanilide = Nimesulide.

(D) K* channel opner = Nicorandil, Pinacidil. Drugs used in the terminal attack of Angina = Glycryl tri nitrate , ISO sorbid dianitrate.

Anti Hypertensive drugs –

ACE inhibitor = captopril, Enalepril, Ramipril
Angiotensin Antagonist = Losartan
Ca* channel blocker = Verapamil, Nifedipine, Amlodipine
Diuretics = Spiranolectone, Thiazide, Furosemide
B-Adrenergic Blocker = Atenolol, Propropranolol, Metoprolol
a-Adrenergic Blocker = Prazosin, phentolamine
Central sympatholytics = clonidine, Methyl-dopa
Vaso-dilator = Hydralazine, minoxidill, sodium nitroprusside Pinacidil

Diuretics
